Are you interested in sharing a lift for your daily compute to work? Please let us know. If there is enough interest this website can be used to link people going in the same direction. But YOU have to let us know. Contact details can remain confidential if you don't want them published. In these cash-strapped times this could be a good way of saving yourself some money.

A local resident has contacted the website about basketball sessions in the new sports hall when it is completed. Click on Your View for more information if you are interested.

There have been thefts of garden ornaments, hanging baskets and concrete/stone planting troughs, as well as scrap metal in the Penley area often in daylight hours. If you see a red pick-up truck write down the vehicle's number and inform the police in Overton on 01978 348298.

Penley is now short of a community councillor after the resignation of Mrs Moser on health grounds. If you are at all interested, contact the clerk directly or through the website to get further information or register your interest. Or come along to the next meeting in Bettisfield Chapel, Cadney Lane on 7 Sept at 7:30 to see what we do. You can be brand new to Penley or born here - all points of view are welcome.

JP asked: Could you tell me more about the building works taking place at the big school in Penley?

MSCC's Response: At the moment a new road is being built through the school grounds from the main entrance to join the A539 opposite the industrial site. This road will service the school buses and perhaps parents' cars for loading and unloading students clearing school related congestion from the main road. Then a new sports hall will be built in the area of the tennis courts. Eventually there will be various internal alterations and improvements. For full details contact the Wrexham CBC Planning Department.

POLICE WARNING

Dear All,

I have recently received information from West Mercia Police that they are currently experiencing a new trend in theft from motor vehicles.

It would appear that the offender/s are targeting Childs Car Seats which are left in vehicles overnight, I understand that these are quite expensive items and I would suggest that they are being stolen and then subsequently sold on.

Could I ask everyone to forward this e-mail to anyone who may benefit from this advice, also if you know any neighbour / local residents that leave car seats in their vehicles overnight I`m sure they would appreciate the warning.

To date we have not had any similar thefts, and with your help we won`t have any in the near future.

Clearly I would suggest that no items of value are left in any vehicle and all vehicles are locked when unattended.

Your help in this matter would be most appreciated.
Regards,
Luke
